• Irish College of GPs unveils new website and branding.
  • New logo reflects a more ambitious and accessible organisation as it marks its 40th anniversary.

The Irish College of GPs has updated its name, brand identity and website to reflect a new direction and tone for the representative organisation for GPs in Ireland. The College is focused on adapting and leading change while embracing the dynamic work life of GPs.

Formerly called The Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP), the name has been changed to “The Irish College of GPs”, and the College now has a modernized, mobile-enabled website.

The new website is www.IrishCollegeofGPs.ie

The brand identity has been updated with new modern colours and creative design, by Bradley – The Brand Agency, to communicate the confidence and expertise of the College’s members.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Irish College of GPs, Prof. Claire Collins, said: “The new logo icon mark gives more focus to the “human” centric nature of the Irish College of GPs. This, along with our new name and colouring, gives cues to our values of excellence, trustworthiness, professionalism and being future-focused.”

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Irish College of GPs, Fintan Foy, said: “We’re delighted to launch this new branding and website for the College, and an updated name to reflect our professional values. Our key message for members and the public is that the Irish College of GPs is advancing general practice while advocating for patients.”

The new website states the College is “the voice of GPs in Ireland”, with a prominent section on the home page for doctors who wish to pursue a career as a GP. There is a strong emphasis on education, professional competence and lifelong learning for members, displaying the College’s emphasis on developing and advancing GPs and their potential.

The popular Clinical Hub, with updated resources for members, is also prominent on the home page.

The President of the Irish College of GPs, Dr Eamonn Shanahan, said; “As we prepare for Wonca Europe 2024 in September, and the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the College, it’s appropriate that the development and advancement of the College as the voice of GPs is reflected in our brand, our website and our communications approach.”
